Adding equation to your report in Word document

Firstly, define a new table style with the following properties. This option is accessible via:
Format >> Style >> New (in Mac Office 2011)

The properties:


The formatting for first column and second column, so that we can have the equation centred and the caption on the rightmost:


Secondly, define a new caption label with the symbol open parenthesis ' ( '.

Then, to add your equation, insert a table with 1 row and 2 columns and apply the table style to it. Add your equation into the first column. And caption it in the last column. You need to add the close parenthesis, ' ) ' after your caption number.



Now you can add your equations  repeatedly by applying these formats and not messing with the numbering.
